One explicit characteristic of phoenics is their vast musical sound spectrum. The brothers Thomas (guitar), David (keys, electronics) and Gregor Lechner (drums) succeed in combining various musical genres such as acid jazz, electronic, arabic, funk, drum’n’bass, groove and blues in an individual manner distinguished by versatile improvisation. Instrumental compositions with an appreciable inclination to Eastern European Harmony, combined with a loungy atmosphere transform their pieces into ambient music on a more-dimensional level. Their courage and notion to experiment and improvise is obvious in their live performances, and intensified through self made HD-visuals which are projected during their concerts. |
